Day 2

Start the first full day of your family break with a delicious breakfast in Osprey Hotel to keep you all well-fueled until lunch. Pack up the car with snacks and essentials and head straight to Dublin to one of the most popular family attractions in the country, Dublin Zoo.

There is a reason Dublin Zoo is classed as one of the best family-friendly days out in Ireland. It is jam-packed with animals, both local and exotic, fun activities for children and adults of all ages, a petting zoo, so much information on animals, their habitats and conservation of the species and much more! They have playgrounds, cafes, and plenty of indoor activities in case it’s a rainy day. The Zoo is set amongst the rolling fields of the largest walled park in Ireland, Phoenix park which is home to Farmleigh House, play areas and of course, Aras an Uachtarain, where the president of Ireland lives. Dublin Zoo is a full day out and is guaranteed to tire out even the most active children. The zoo is a 35-minute drive from door to door and is a fantastic day out for the whole family.

If your little ones are not completely tuckered out after a day in the Zoo, or the day is too wet to explore outdoors, you can take them to the nearby Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. There are a huge selection of shops, cafes and restaurants with something to suit all budgets and best of all, there is a state of the art, multi-screen cinema on-site showing the biggest and best family blockbusters. For a cinema a little closer to home, head to the Odeon in the nearby Naas village.
