From calm and relaxing, to loud and adventurous places to visit, Kildare has everything to offer, and is no doubt one of the best counties for family breaks in Ireland. Although a difficult task and with so many options to choose from, we have compiled a list of our favourite family friendly activities to do while visiting Kildare.

5. Larchill Arcadian Gardens

Wonder with your family into the two fairy tale follies, one a formal walled garden with a seashell lined tower, and the other a decorative gothic farmyard. Larchill Arcadian Gardens is a unique 18th-century park and garden. It is the only complete ‘Ferme Ornée‘’ in Europe, meaning it was designed partly for aesthetic principles and partly for farming. Adults can enjoy its history and ornamental beauty while the children can frolic with the farm animals and run amongst the fields. And everyone can enjoy a pleasant and peaceful picnic in the blissful greenery. It’s a great excursion for families when traveling abroad.
